Buster, 1 year in cage!!!!

Please crosspost Buster has been living in a cage for ONE year...imagine living in a cage for a whole year...no one wants to save him out here in Long Island it seems because he is a pit bull please crosspost and give this boy a better life one he deserves.......

I can be reached at eddabataan@msn.com, I actually know this shelter as they save many dogs locally on Long Island really bad cases get into the news and this shelter always tries to do what it can so for them to be posting a possible death coming up it must mean they tried all other outlets.....please help BUSTER....

VERY SAD STORY...."BUSTER" , A VERY LOVING & FRIENDLY 2 YR. OLD FAMILY PET BRINDLE PIT HAS BEEN STUCK IN A CAGE FOR ONE FULL YEAR... NOONE'S EVEN ASKED ABOUT HIM AND THE BROOKHAVEN SHELTER ON LONG ISLAND, NY JUST TOLD ME OVER THE PHONE HIS TIME IS COMING TO AN END!!

ONE FULL YEAR AGO LAST OCTOBER...THE OWNER BECAME PREGNANT AND HAD TO MOVE BACK TO FLORIDA. SHE LEFT HER 3 DOGS WITH HER FATHER WHO HEARTLESSLY DROPPED ALL 3 DOGS OFF AT THE KILL SHELTER.

ONE DOG WAS ADOPTED, A 2ND DOG IS UNACCOUNTED FOR...NOONE KNOWS WHAT HAPPENED TO THE 2ND DOG....AND MOST SHOCKING..... 'BUSTER' IS STILL LIVING IN A CAGE BY HIMSELF AT THE SHELTER.

THE PREVIOUS OWNER SAID BUSTER IS VERY LOVEABLE...LIVED WITH HER OTHER 2 DOGS WHICH YOU SEE BELOW IN HIS PICTURE FROM A YEAR AGO. SHE ALSO SAID HE HAS ALWAYS BEEN A VERY FRIENDLY FAMILY DOG. THE SHELTER STAFF HAS ALSO JUST CONFIRMED THAT OVER THE PHONE W/ME..

SADLY, THE SHELTER SAID NOONE IS INTERESTED IN SAVING HIS LIFE BECAUSE HE'S A PIT.. THEY CONFIRMED HE IS VERY FRIENDLY TO EVERYONE AND THAT'S WHY THEY TRIED TO KEEP HIM AS LONG AS POSSIBLE TO TRY AND SAVE HIS LIFE. BUT BUSTER'S TIME IS NOW COMING TO AN END.

AND EVEN MORE PATHETIC....WHEN BUSTER WAS ONLY A FEW MONTHS OLD, HE WAS IN A VERY ABUSIVE HOME AND THAT'S WHEN THE PREVIOUS OWNER RESCUED & ADOPTED HIM AND WAS THE 'BEST' FAMILY DOG.

THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAS STAYED IN CONTACT WITH THE SHELTER AND SAYS SHE IS HEARTBROKEN ABOUT BUSTER STUCK IN A CAGE..BUT SHE CAN'T HAVE ANY DOGS WHERE SHE IS LIVING WITH HER KIDS.

PLEASE.....MY FRIENDS IN THE RESCUE WORLD....CAN YOU DONATE SOME OF YOUR TIME TO CROSSPOST THIS FOR BUSTER AND HOPEFULLY OUR COLLECTIVE EFFORTS WILL FIND A RESCUE, OR FOSTER HOME, WHATEVER TO FINALLY GET THIS POOR DOG OUT OF THAT SHELTER AND INTO A LOVING HOME OR RESCUE BEFORE HE DIES.

HOW TRAGIC A FATE TO DIE AFTER BEING FORGOTTEN ABOUT A WHOLE YEAR IN A CAGE.! I CAN DONATE $75 TOWARDS A SAFE RESCUE....ANYONE ELSE WILLING????

ALL CONTACT INFO FOR THE BROOKHAVEN POUND IS BELOW. PLEASE DON'T DELETE...PLEASE HELP BUSTER!!

beautiful boy for adoption!

Got this message from Emily @ www.louieslegacy.org

-----

Please help me save this calm, sweet, gentle, blue boy by reposting for his life--- please keep in mind I can pull him for an approved foster or adopter, but I am prohibited from pulling for another rescue group-- not my rules, but I have to play by them.

Thanks so much for any help you can give in putting his little face out there!

Best,

Emily Gear

Gorgeous BLUE NOSE boy with A+ behavior eval - little time to live!

This is "Mazinger", a gorgeous, compact, silvery hunk. He is currently in the city shelter, and we are working hard to save him before his time is up. Are you looking for an awesome family dog? Have pit experience, or willing to learn? You could be the one for him!

This is what a volunteer wrote about this special guy: Gorgeous blue-nose Mazinger is a looker, and a lover - all in one. At 4 years old, he weighs a slim 40 lbs and still has playful puppy energy but knows how to sit and how to do his business outside! He is the best of both worlds and it's pretty clear he's had a loving owner at one point before. Mazinger was found as a stray, but we know he loves belly rubs and is very affectionate! When he was snuggled up to me and couldn't reach my face, he'd kiss my arm instead. He is very submissive and sociable and received our staff's highest praise for his behavior.

If you would like to meet Mazinger, PLEASE email us at emily@louieslegacy.org

We don't have much time-- please email now to save his life.

OR, you can get a head-start and apply here: www.louieslegacy.org/adopt

Mazinger will come neutered, up to date on vaccinations, heartworm tested negative, dewormed and microchipped.

Pit needs home!

This dog needs a home. This wonderful woman found him roaming the streets back in april and took him in. The owners came forward so she gave the dog back. Now the owners brought the dog back to Illeann saying they cannot keep him. He looks to be a pure breed blue pit. Very mushy beautiful dog. If anyone knows anyone please contact Rosanna luvyourdog11@optonline.net He is young, looks to be about 2 years old.

Humane Society for Hamilton County Sends Urgent Plea for Help

Humane Society for Hamilton County

URGENT NOTICE: The shelter has reached capacity on both dogs and cats. We are in desperate need of adoptive and foster homes. Please visit the shelter today.

A Plea for Help from the Executive Director

Above picture is one of the URGENT dogs in need of a home. Here is his story:

Sedric is a 5 years old Pit Bull terrier-mix who was surrendered to the shelter in October along with his companion Pauly. The owner said she could no longer keep the dogs. Sedric is mostly white with the exception of his brindled left eye and ear. He has not gotten into somebody’s lipstick; his lips are just naturally pink! (They match his ears) When visiting with Sedric the first thing I noticed was how very thin he is; you can see every rib. This boy needs to go to Golden Corral and go back for thirds. Like Pauly, Sedric has lived with his owner since he was a little pup. He is naturally confused about being here, but he is willing to socialize with everyone he meets. It may take him a while to really warm up, but he loves attention and enjoys playing. He might play a little rough for small children, and we think he would do best being the only pet in the family. During his temperament testing, Sedric scored very well in his social skills and ability to follow directions. He has been neutered so he is ready to go home with his new family

For those who followed Nico's story....

The DogoMan Show: A Fundraiser Event About Dogs

Hello, my name is Nelson Gold Candolino. I am a dog trainer and an artist here in New York City, starting out as a dog walker seven years ago. Last spring, I made the decision to write and produce a show about and starring dogs. I have a great love for them, which has only grown more since I began training as a career. I believe dogs have the power to heal. My ultimate goal with this show is to start to raise money to help rescue homeless dogs, to help shelters and to establish a sanctuary, for dogs who I can train to be therapy dogs. I am looking for any kind of support in order to promote the show that I am producing/directing and co-staring in with 9 Dogs on stage, plus an 8 year old tap dancer, along with other singers and performers. The Dogoman Show is a benefit show that will be held at the beautiful Poet's Den Theatre this September 9th, in East Harlem, Manhattan.

Pugsley Urgently needs a home!

Pugsley is a 10-year old 90% blind pug. He had a severe pneumonia and a horrible ear infection when we rescued him from the shelter.

Pugsleys story is a sad one. Pugsley was fostered and adopted months ago. His adoptive family does not want him anymore. Pugsley has an issue with marking in the house. This can easily be resolved by crating or training. Pugsley needs a home where someone will understand him and give him the attention and care he needs.

Pugsley is available for adoption but also needs a foster home. If you could find it in your heart to give this senior blind dog a loving home, please contact Rosanna 516-945-4235
