Before you pass me up because I am another pit mix in the shelter, please take a minute to read my story. I was once a happy, normal dog. I had an owner and a home. I woke up and saw sunlight. I got fed in a quiet apartment and went on regular walks with my owner. I loved him very much and still miss him. But I have come to realize he is not coming back for me. I need to move on. Its been over a year since he dropped me off at the shelter. I cried in the cage for days but still he did not come back. However I was one of the lucky ones. When my time was up at the shelter, I was transferred to rescue instead of being put to sleep. I am grateful to be alive, to go for walks, to have regular meals... but I miss having a home. I have been at this no-kill shelter so long, I feel like the world has forgotten me. A lot of the dogs bark and cry all night. Sometimes I cannot sleep. I get so frustrated. I need room to stretch my legs. But most of all, I need a home and owner who loves me again. I am an incredibly good dog. I am housebroken, I am not destructive. I know some basic commanders, I am a quick learner. I am good in the car. I love to play and am very affectionate. I walk well on a leash. I am not too big either, only around 40 lbs. I could live happily in apartment with proper exercise. Please help me find a home again. I promise I will be a good dog. Love Tickles.

help bones!

BONES IS ONE OF THOSE DOGS WHO NEEDS A BREAK ... his life has been hard enough, starved, skin sores, not loved and cared for, and now he's in the shelter with 24 hours before he leaves this earth forever! He needs an angel to save him ... someone who will be able to help him recover and become the dog he was meant to be. He will need extra loving care to bring him up to his correct weight. He also has those sores that will need tending. And he needs lots of patience as he becomes more confident and calm and his true personality emerges. If you have the heart to take in this soulful dog please reply asap. He is currently in a Brooklyn shelter and is out of time. IF YOU CAN FOSTER OR ADOPT THIS HARD LUCK DOG, PLEASE EMAIL MKLMLKWK@AOL.COM LOOK AT THAT FACE!!

NEW YORK ACC NEEDS YOU!

New York ACC

I warmly recommend adopting or fostering from the New York ACC.

The have so so so many dogs in urgent need of love, warmth and just a safe quiet home. These dogs are put to death if not adopted on time.

They have so many good sweet dogs there waiting for you!

Many of dogs dogs were left there by there owners, stray or just plain neglected. There are also many pit bulls at the city shelter that are calm and loving. The ACC runs a behavioral test on each animal and can tell you if the dog has any aggression.

These sweethearts sit all day in a cold lonely cell/ cage waiting for there death sentence. Please save one of them....

The ACC also has a foster program if you feel you can not commit to adopting.

Please consider one of these dogs...they need you!

Australian bushfire appeal
The horrific Australian bushfires in the Victoria area have devastated
entire towns. In addition to the many people affected, the surviving
animals in that area are in dire need of help.
DOGS Victoria has set up an emergency assistance fund to which one
can donate via PayPal (either with your own paypal account or via credit
card) or by international bank wire transfer.
As a fundraiser DOGS Victoria is having a "Virtual Dog Show" which is

Sunshine was adopted yesterday!

Just wanted to let you all know that Sunshine the sweetheart that was rescued from a dog fighting building was adopted!

(see video from earlier post with Sunshine's story)

She is a pit bull, 1 year old, and even though she was abused and hurt emotionally she has a heart of gold with no regression. The women that adopted her has other dogs and 2 cats. Sunshine gets along with them all.

This is one of those really good endings!

Please read the pain I experienced last night..and help foster Star (read about him too), HE IS BACK, YES BACK AT THE ACC, HE WAS BROUGHT BACK BY HIS FOSTER MOM AND WE JUST FOUND OUT, we can bring him to you if you offer to foster..he is so shaken up right now, it's very heartbreaking..please read my story....I must tell you what I saw last night at the ACC...I left sick to my stomach..as cage after cage was full of puppies and dogs..lying in their cage just wasting away..not moving just looking like they are saying, Ok I am ready to die, they will all be euthanized..NO ONE was there adopting..I cry as I type this. I cannot get that image out of my headStar was on the euth list..pulled then fostered, then back at the ACC as his foster mom had no time for him..He one of those dogs that I cannot express how much of a great dog he is...He was pulled off the euth list, placed in foster..AND NOW BACK AT THE ACC..Went to see him last night..HE IS SHAKING IN HIS CAGE..TO BE BACK AT THE ACC, HOW HORRIBLE BUT THE FOSTER MOM TOOK HIM THERE AND WE JUST FOUND OUT FROM SOMEONE THAT WORKS THEREI know that we can't save them all but if we can save one or two..this one is a boy that I personally know would make someone so happy. All we need is a foster, just to get him out of the hell he is in..please look at his picture and you can see how much he LOVES PEOPLE..he loves dogs, he is a healthy boy..Star is a loving dog with a most fantastic outlook on life. We should all take lessons from this dog. When we first met him at a shelter, he was surrounded by LOUD barking, jumping, traumatized poor canines, but he was cool as a cucumber; all energies devoted to smiling sweetly up at us from the front of his kennel. When we saw him again, he was smiling, playing and making friends and enjoying his walk. He was receiving some training, but this dog's so grounded and low-key that he could easily smooth himself into a new home without causing a fuss. This is a dog waiting to be a very special companion to some lucky human. But Star had no much time left. He now needs a foster or forever home! STAR is approx 18 months old and 40 pounds. He's playful, active and loving. He takes treats nicely from your fingers, and has always been rated ADOPTABLE by the vets. Please contact Marta to foster or adopt Star at 646 678 6501
