Lady's a First Class Dog & Needs Forever a Home

Please contact Mila Parot at mila.parot@gmail.com if interested in adopting Lady and I will email you an application. Lady's awesome and needs a forever home ASAP. This is a rescue organization.
A stunning 2 yr-old, 48 lbs Lady was left abandoned in an empty apartment and taken to the local city shelter. Since she arrived at the shelter, Lady became a favorite of staff members and volunteers. Not once in her time at the shelter she showed any aggression. She was awarded the shelter's best and most prestigious behavior rating...NO CONCERN. This is reserved for those dogs who perform exceptionally well on their behavior test. One staffer described Lady as a "true princess", and we think she's absolutely correct. Lady is a first class dog - so smart and impressive; we know everyone is going to fall in love with her.

We rescued Lady from an overcrowded shelter and she now needs a forever home. Lady loves meeting people and give kisses whether you ask for them or not. She was seized when her owner was evicted. Lady has lost her owner and her home, and one fell swoop. Yes, she's very gentle and affectionate and is rather submissive with people. Lady is, well, a real lady. She comes quickly when you call her, and obeys the "sit" and "stay" commands. Lady enjoys staying at her caretaker's feet or hopping on the bench and sitting next to you to be carressed. She loves toys and plays with them for hours. She takes treats gently from your hands. She has a beautiful mahogany brindle coat and soulful brown eyes.

Lady had given birth to a little of puppies shortly before she came to the shelter. Her puppies were taken away from her and she's now protective around other dogs and cats so she needs to be the only pet in the household.

"They [dogs] never talk about themselves but listen to you while you talk about yourself, and keep up an appearance of being interested in the conversation." - Jerome K. Jerome TINA a sweet and shy 1 yr f brindle pit x was saved from death row at the NYC City Shelter... She was brought in as a stray and arrived very frightened, handshy and flinching when touched... a clear sign that someone "abused her by hitting" her. A few days later, she was much more comfortable, and wanted to make friends with everyone she met... Yet, she remains a little cautious but she is not aggressive in the least. She walks nicely on a leash and needs some more work on the housetraining as she has some accidents.. She's very very sweet, pretty and her lean slim body makes us think she has a little greyhound in her. She's GOOD WITH OTHER DOGS AND CATS and think she would be fine with kids 7 yrs+ .She's medium size at 49 lbs... Please help us to keep her from going back to the shelter by ADOPTING or FOSTERING her ASAP!

If you can commit to adopting or fostering Tina ASAP.. please send e-mail to: heavencanwaitrescueny@gmail.com or call #212-533-0822 and leave your contact#s - THANK YOU! *Pls note there will be a reasonable adoption donation fee to cover shots, spay surgery, microchip and transport

January Is “Unchain a Dog” Month: Come to the Rescue of Neglected Dogs

Allow animals inside, particularly puppies and kittens, elderly animals, small animals, and dogs with short hair, such as pointers, beagles, Rottweilers, pit bulls, and Dobermans. When they do go outside, short-haired animals will benefit from a cozy sweater or coat.

Provide dogs who spend time outside with proper shelter. Ideally, doghouses should be made of wood (plastic doesn’t insulate as well, and metal conducts cold) and should be positioned in a sunny location during cold weather. Raise the house off the ground several inches, and put a flap over the door to keep out cold drafts. Use straw for bedding; rugs and blankets can get wet and freeze.

Make sure that dog tethers are untangled and away from trees and objects that would prevent the animal from getting into a doghouse.

Don’t allow your cat or dog to roam freely outdoors. During winter, cats sometimes climb under the hoods of cars to be near warm engines and are badly injured or killed when the car is started. (To help prevent this, bang loudly on the hood of your car before starting the engine.) Animals are also attracted to deadly antifreeze and can become disoriented when there is snow or ice on the ground. More animals are lost during the winter than during any other season.

Increase animals’ food rations during winter (they are burning more calories to keep warm). Also, be sure that animals are free of internal parasites, which can rob them of vital nutrients.
