Best Friends Article

So as you can see I am very involved in Yuval Mendelovitz bully dog rescue mission.

Today Best Friends, the largest sanctuary for abused and abandoned animals in the United States, wrote an article about him.

Here you can read it:

Joe Jackson, the cutest pug....

watch this video and click for donations >>

When the three-year-old Pug Joe Jackson was found, he had an excruciatingly painful, dangling paw, and veterinarians determined he had been suffering for two to three weeks. When he arrived at the ASPCA, his leg was amputated by veterinarians at the ASPCA Bergh Memorial Animal Hospital.

A suspected cruelty case, Joe isn't out of the woods yet. He suffers from "phantom limb" pain and cries without physical cause. He's being treated for neurological problems as well as hip dysplasia. While Joe recuperates, our expert vets depend on supporters like you to be able to give this special pooch, along with every animal who comes through our doors, the top-notch care they so thoroughly deserve.

Senior Dog in Need!

Poor Jake. Jake's owner died suddenly after having this sweet boy since he was a puppy. Jake is now 10 years old and he misses his owner very much. In his younger years, Jake did Agility and there are pictures in the apartment of him participating in this sport. Jake and his owner were familiar figures in their neighborhood up until the end. Jake's daddy would throw balls to Jake to fetch, a favorite game of Jake's. Now Jake is staying in the apartment alone since his owner died and being cared for by various neighbors . His time is limited as the landlord is going to want to rent the apartment out shortly. At his age, Jake doesn't stand a chance at the city shelter that is packed with young dogs not making it out. Can you be the angel who gives Jake a home for the rest of his senior years? Jake is good with kids, cats, and other dogs, but will need time to transition into a new home. He is very good natured, but also missing his owner. Jake is neutered and up to date on his shots. Contact information is Beth at kaya1227@comcast.net

Jake is located in Philadelphia and if he does not get adopted by the end of the month he will need to make his way to the shelter, where he stands no chance of surviving.

Please consider him!

Tune in and be inspired by this very special dog

Taken from Best Friends Website: http://network.bestfriends.org/stopbsl/news/32158.html

Oogy was four months old when he was tied to a stake and used as bait to teach other dogs how to fight.

The left side of his face, from just behind his eye and including his ear, was torn off. His jaw bone was crushed and his skull damaged. Then, he was thrown into a cage to bleed to death.

Fate, it seems, intervened at this point and officers raided the dog fighting organization, found Oogy and took him to a vet who saved his life.

And here is where Oogy won the hearts of Larry Levin and his twin boys.

See Oogy on Oprah http://www.oprah.com/slideshow/oprahshow/slideshow1_ss_rel_20080214/14
Described as, “full of love, the third twin, special, and kind to people and animals” — Oogy’s story reminds us to see with our hearts and that for every heinous act, there is good in this world—and that is something worth fighting for.
